From theatricality in daily life, documenting and mapping research on the experience of time, creating visual approaches to the passing of time to performing the action washing of the dying body. I started the trajectory in the masters to trigger and develop my research skills, take time to reflect on my career as a designer and make my own project. I wanted to use my experience as a designer and educator to develop a project based upon my fascination. In my end communication I will reflect on the path I took, the choices I made, the current state of my research and future thoughts on how to develop my project and my research.
PROJECT Now is the rainbow
On the 20th and 21st of December 2024, I made a performance on the proces and action of the washing of the dying body at Hillevliet Rotterdam, at a foundation called Corpo. Corpo is a community arts studio. For the research week in Corpo I created an exhibition space and performed in that space. The washing of the dying body, is performed through using the technique of watercoloring. These actions in the performance are filmed and projected. As an audience member you were part of the issue in this space, you could take time to process, to think and perhaps transform your view on the dying body. In my end communication I will dress the intention I had for this performance and how I and the audience experienced it.
